About me: Photographer in Nha Trang with a Designer’s Eye

Hi, I’m Dima — a commercial, interior and portrait photographer based in Nha Trang, Vietnam. I have more than 20 years of professional photography experience and have worked in visual media and design since 1998.

My professional background began in Israel with newspaper and magazine design. I started photographing for publications in 2003 and later worked on projects in Russia, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka, Egypt and Vietnam.

My design background has strongly influenced the way I approach photography. I think not only about how an individual image looks, but also about composition, color, the consistency of the complete series and how the photographs will ultimately be used — on a website, in advertising, menus, catalogs or print.

I simply love beauty and try to show life a little more beautifully than it really is. At the same time, I want the photograph to remain alive and natural rather than becoming something artificial.

My main areas of work are:

• Real estate, hotel and interior photography for villas, resorts, hotels, apartments and booking platforms such as Airbnb, Agoda and Booking.com.
• Food, product and commercial photography for restaurants, menus, brands, advertising and e-commerce.
• Portrait, beauty and lifestyle photography for individual clients, models, couples and families.

Before a commercial shoot, I prefer to agree on the brief and intended use of the images. This helps me understand what the client actually needs and avoids producing photographs that have no practical purpose.

A lucky frame can happen to anyone. Professional photography is about delivering a consistent result across the whole assignment. That is why I show complete photo sessions, not only a handful of selected highlights — so clients can see the real quantity, variety and quality they can expect.

Preparation often starts before the shoot. I usually ask clients what they are planning to wear and encourage them to send me a few outfit options in advance. If needed, I can help choose what will work best with the location, light and overall style of the session.

For portrait sessions, I do not like working with a stopwatch. We agree on the shoot, the expected result and the price in advance, and then I focus on getting the strongest and most complete series possible rather than watching the clock.
